Position
​
SU LL is seeking a curious, creative, and entrepreneurial individual who is passionate about understanding and communicating with diverse audiences, including startups, venture capitalists, students, and large corporates.
This person will play a critical role in creating and implementing marketing strategies to tell the story of how we are building world-shaping businesses and working with incredible pan-African entrepreneurs. They will work closely with our dynamic SU LL team members to fully understand their roles, programs, and impact, creating and ensuring the success of marketing campaigns tailored to the unique needs of each vertical. The job requires a candidate who can see the big picture while digging into the small details, is able to think outside the box and craft memorable narratives, can devise innovative ways to reach valuable audiences, and excel in their communication skills to an array of individuals.

Position Details
​
Position: Marketing Associate
Hours: 6 month consulting contract (45 hours/week) with potential for FTE
Reporting: Reports to Activation Lead
Fixed Salary: R10-15K gross per month
Variable Earnings: Opportunity to earn cash bonuses and annual profit sharing as FTE
Location: In office in Stellenbosch, Western Cape, SA at least 3 days per week
Timing: Start date 1-30 April or sooner

Responsibilities

Marketing Strategy

Developing and executing marketing plans

Analysing market trends and customer feedback

Identifying target audiences
-
Creating and managing budgets
Content Creation and Editing
-
Developing and creating content for marketing materials
-
Designing creative concepts and visuals for campaigns
-
Recording and editing photos and videos
-
Creating and managing social media content
-
Creatively enhancing client facing materials, including brochures, flyers, presentations, proposals
Campaign Management
-
Developing and managing campaigns
-
Tracking and analysing campaign performance
-
Optimizing campaigns for maximum ROI
-
Reporting on campaign results
-
Work with external service providers, providing briefs, obtaining quotes, project managing workstreams
Event Management
-
Conceptualise, organise, and coordinate marketing events such as conferences, webinars, and trade shows
-
Assisting with the setup, facilitation, and hosting of marketing events
-
Reporting on events
Research and Analysis

Conducting market research

Analysing customer data

Identifying new opportunities

Monitoring competitor activities

Qualifications & Experience
-
2 years + experience in marketing
-
Associate or bachelor’s degree required- degree in marketing, business or a related field a plus

Demonstrated business marketing experience with the following:
